OUR MISSION
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,
do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31
Solace Theatre is a Christian community theatre that produces shows that are accessible for all types of audiences, providing excellent, intentional entertainment that will reach hearts of all ages, backgrounds, and situations.

We believe theatre is an extremely powerful art form that allows the audience to deeply connect with story and characters, and bring relevant messages to life. Theatre provides for a space where people can be vulnerable, laugh, cry, and think, moving them toward compassion and inspiring heart change.

We also believe in the transformational power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who came to earth to take the punishment of sin upon Himself, dying on the cross, defeating death, and rising from the grave three days later. While the world has limited answers, we believe the Bible, the inspired Word of God, is able to transcend any barrier and speak into every situation of life.

We have a passion for both the Gospel and theatre, and we bring those two passions together at Solace Theatre. Our goal is that the shows we produce will ask questions and point to the inspired Word of God for the answers, building a bridge between Christianity and culture, and providing opportunities for Christ-centered conversations.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to be a theatre community that represents Christ with excellence by producing quality Gospel-driven productions that will entertain audiences, engage hearts, and explore Biblical truth in a relatable way.
Solace Theatre does not currently have a set location.
Our productions are rehearsed and performed at a variety of locations around the Raleigh area.

It is our goal to be a community theatre that provides free participation for our actors, and for our shows to be accessable and affordable for our audiences. Subsequently, we rely heavily on sponsorships and donations.

Solace Theatre is currently working toward obtaining 501(c)3 Non-Profit Status.
WHY "SOLACE THEATRE"?
Solace (sol-is) noun
1. comfort in sorrow, brokenness, or trouble.                                   2. something that gives comfort, consolation or relief.

We chose the word "solace" because it applies to both theatre and the Gospel. Theatre can shine understanding, perspective, and compassion into the struggles of life. On the flip side, we are broken souls in a broken world, and only Christ provides satisfying freedom, forgiveness, and healing.

OUR DECLARATION OF FAITH
We believe the Bible is the only inspired Word of God, being completely infallible and unchanging, with supreme authority over all matters of life and faith.

We believe in one God who created all things on earth and in heaven, and the mystery of the trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe all people are created in God's image, and therefore have intrinsic value.

We believe sin separates us from God, and is deserving of His holy and just wrath.

We believe all people can only be reconciled by faith to God through Jesus Christ, who took the punishment for our sin upon Himself, being crucified on the Cross, and rising from the grave on the third day, defeating death.

We believe salvation is by faith alone, the fruit of which is repentance.

We believe in the importance of the local church for believers to have Biblical community, accountability, teaching, and encouragement.
